Red Ribbon Club is a movement started by the Government of India in schools and colleges through which, students will spread awareness over HIV / AIDS.
It envisages instilling a charity mind among all the students to extend their help towards developing healthy lifestyles, donating blood to all the needy by promotion of Regular voluntary blood donation.

On August 14, 2025, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit ,Red Ribbon Club (RRC) and Road Safety Club of Government Degree College (GDC), Dehar, Mandi, organised a walkathon as part of the Intensified Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign and International Youth Day 2025 celebrations under the esteemed guidance of Principal Dr. J.P. Singh. The walkathon, which saw the participation of approximately 65 students, commenced at the GDC Dehar campus and proceeded through Dehar Market, culminating at the Dehar Police Chowki. A key highlight of the event was the enthusiastic participation of students, who raised awareness through impactful slogans such as “Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life” and “Break the Chain, Stop Drug Pain.” These messages underscored the perils of substance abuse while advocating for a healthier, drug-free lifestyle.
Mass pledge initiative against drug abuse as part of the 5th anniversary celebrations of the “Nasha Mukti Bharat Abhiyan” (NMBA) and International Youth Day 2025.
On 13 August,2025 Government Degree College, Dehar, actively participated in a mass pledge initiative against drug abuse as part of the 5th anniversary celebrations of the “Nasha Mukti Bharat Abhiyan” (NMBA) and International Youth Day. Under the esteemed leadership of Principal Dr. J. P. Singh, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit, Red Ribbon Club (RRC), and Parhari Club of GDC Dehar organised a significant awareness program titled “Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs.” This initiative, aligned with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Government of India, aimed to educate participants about the perils of drug abuse, promote healthy lifestyle choices..The program featured a pledge ceremony, administered by Ms. Meera Sharma, Nodal Officer of the Parhari Club, and an insightful lecture on drug abuse delivered by Dr. Jai Kiran, NSS Program Officer. The event underscored the institution’s commitment to fostering a drug-free community through education and collective action.
International AIDS Day celebration.
On July 18, 2025, two Peer Educators, Ms. Anu Devi and Ms. Priyanka, along with Nodal Officer Ms. Meera Sharma, participated in a one-day orientation programme and exposure visit at Zonal Hospital, Mandi. The initiative aimed to enhance RRC members’ knowledge of HIV/AIDS, blood donation, and healthy lifestyles while providing practical exposure to healthcare services to strengthen community outreach efforts.
Red Ribbon Club, GDC Dehar organised an expert lecture on 'Celebrating Healthy Life' on 30th August 2024 in Room No. 4 at 10:30 a.m. as an extension activity of youth day. Ms. Meera Sharma Assistant Professor of Commerce and RRC coordinator welcomed the gathering. Dr. Shivani Chaudhary Assistant Professor of English talked about physical fitness, mental wellbeing and disease prevention with a special focus on HIV/AIDS.
