Rovers and Rangers

The Rover & Ranger Unit of Government Degree College Dehar functions under The Bharat Scouts and Guides, a voluntary, non-political, and educational youth movement founded by Lord Baden-Powell in 1907. The movement is dedicated to developing responsible, disciplined, self-reliant, and service-oriented citizens by promoting leadership, teamwork, adventure, community service, and character building.

The Rover & Ranger Unit at Government Degree College Dehar was established in 2025 under the visionary leadership of Principal Dr. J. P. Singh. The establishment of the unit marked a significant milestone in the college's commitment to the holistic development of its students by providing them with opportunities to engage in social service, environmental conservation, disaster preparedness, leadership training, and nation-building activities.

The college takes great pride in the appointment of Prof. Reena, Assistant Professor, Department of History, as the First Ranger Leader of the institution. Under her dedicated guidance, the unit inspires students to uphold the values of service, discipline, patriotism, self-reliance, and social responsibility while actively participating in college, community, university, and state-level programmes.

The Rover & Ranger Unit is committed to nurturing socially responsible and capable young citizens who contribute positively to society through humanitarian service, environmental awareness, leadership development, disaster management, and national integration. Through dedication, enthusiasm, and a spirit of selfless service, the unit aspires to become a vibrant centre of youth empowerment and community engagement, making a meaningful contribution to society and the nation.
